MPEG-2 is a digital video format and is widely used for digital TV and DVD . MPEG-2 video format is usually seen with the file extensions .mpg, .ts, .vob and svcd. Videozilla Video Converter can be used to convert MPEG-2 video format into other video formats while retaining the video quality and also reducing the video file size.
 
If Videozilla is unable convert your MPEG-2 video, you may install third party MPEG-2 decoder to support the MPEG-2 conversion. Please refer to the instructions below:
1.
Download the latest FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder MMX at http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm
2.
Unzip FFDShow and run the FFDShow setup.
3.
During the setup, check "Decode the following video formats with ffdshow", check "MPEG II" and select "libmpeg2".
4.
Complete the setup.
5.
Right-click your mpeg-2 video and convert it with Videozilla.
6.
Select "use ffdshow (just once)" from the message prompt.
 
If the solutions above does not work properly, you may try the following:
1.
Check the installation folder of Videozilla eg. C:\Program Files\Videozilla OR C:\Program Data\Videozilla2 if you are using Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10.
2.
Double click on the settings.ini
3.
Look for the entry AdvancedMPEG=0 under [MPEGSettings]. Update AdvancedMPEG=0 to AdvancedMPEG=1
4.
Save the settings.ini
5.
Right-click your mpeg-2 video and convert it with Videozilla.
6.
Select "use ffdshow (just once)" from the message prompt.
